Statement of Purpose
In 1990, the Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church embarked on a new ministry through offering a preschool program for young children. From its inception, the purpose has been threefold.

• First: The preschool seeks to provide an environment where children are nurtured with Christian love and where stories of faith and the wondrous love of God can be shared.
• Second: The preschool seeks to enhance the development of young children with an age appropriate curriculum. Children will be met where they are in their development and teachers will provide opportunities for growth physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually.
• Third: The preschool believes that a strong self-image and positive self-esteem are essential for life in our world. By providing a loving, nurturing, Christian environment and a developmental program, it is our hope that each child's self-image will be positive, secure and as was intended from birth, a mirroring of the image of God.

The Staff
The staff at Tinkling Spring Preschool consists of a Director, three Teachers, three Assistant Teachers, a Bible Teacher, and a Music/Library Teacher.

Our Preschool Committee has made the following qualifications for the employment as a staff member:

"A Preschool Teacher at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Preschool is called to be a loving, caring individual who has a personal love of God revealed in Jesus Christ and who loves children and cares deeply for their well being, development, self-esteem and abiding worth as a child of God; A High School Diploma, some college credit in the area of Early Childhood Education is preferable but not mandatory".

Our staff must be certified annually by a practicing physician to be free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children.

The Tinkling Spring Preschool has a maximum of 52 students enrolled. There will be a maximum of 40 children in the facility on an average day.

Classes Offered

• Two Day - Three-Year-Old Class
  Four-year-olds will be accepted if Four-year-old classes are full
  Thursday and Friday
• Three Day - Three-Year-Old Class
  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
• Four Day - Four -Year-Old Class
  Tuesday - Friday
• Five Day - Four-Year-Old Class
  Monday - Friday

Each four-year-old class has a maximum enrollment of 14. Each three-year-old class has a maximum enrollment of 12 children. The Mother's Morning Out Program will have no more than 10 children in the program.

Each class receives a weekly Bible lesson with the Director of Christian Education, and Music and Library time with the Preschool Director.

As with public schools, children must be the class age by September 30 of that school year and toilet trained.
